John 'R.J., Jack' MacLellan, 73, died at home on Oct. 13, 2015.
Born in Inverness on Oct. 29, 1941, he was the son of the late Malcolm and Elizabeth (Gillis) MacLellan.
He was a member of St. Joseph parish, South West Margaree; Fr. Robert F Wicks Council #9936 Knights of Columbus; United Association of Plumber and Pipefitters Local 682. Although a pipefitter by trade, he enjoyed his time farming and fishing gaspereau. RJ is remembered for his sharp wit and antics. His storytelling captivated the attention of many and his generosity was unmatched. Nothing brought more joy to RJ than his daughter, Sara. She was the light of his life.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine (Campbell) and daughter Sara; sisters, Anna Matheson, Belle Cote, Marilyn (Bruno) MacNeil, Kingsville, Allana (John) Mullaney, Frankville, Janet (Aldie) MacInnis, East Lake Ainslie; sister-in-law Joan MacLellan, SouthWest Margaree; brothers, Peter (Vicky) Wilmington, Massachusetts, Gerald (Barbara), Port Hood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by parents Malcolm and Elizabeth (Gillis), infant sister Mary and brothers, Herbie and Eugene.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, Oct. 20 from 1-9 p.m. at Inverness Funeral Home, MacIsaac Street, Inverness. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. at Saint Joseph Church, Southwest Margaree, with Fr. Barrett Clare Johnson officiating, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
The funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Inverness Funeral Home. Donation in RJ's memory may be made to a charity of choice.
