Kenneth Carleton
CARLETON – Kenneth Andrew of Swift Current formerly of Orkney, SK passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the age of 92. He was born on January 14, 1923 at Cadillac, SK to Clayton and Lillian Carleton. He was the eldest of 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls. He married Jean Sim of Orkney on October 11, 1945 and they recently reached the milestone of 70 years of marriage. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Clayton and Lillian; brother and sister-in-law Stanley and Lois Carleton, brother-in-law Roy North, sister and brother-in-law Mae and Tom Wood, daughters-in-law Sandy Carleton and Louise Thompson, mother and father-in-law Clark and Jennie Sim, sister-in-law Irma Griffin, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Olive and Ray McGillivary. He is survived by his loving wife Jean; 3 children Russel (Shirley), Carol (Perry), Larry (Bonnie); 7 grandchildren and their spouses; 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Marian North, one brother George (Sophie) Carleton, one sister-in-law Rita (Norman) Schick and one brother-in-law Lafe Griffin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends who were special to him in one way or another. A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. from First United Church with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. The interment took place at Orkney Cemetery, Orkney, SK.
