Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Daniel and Patricia (Fontaine) Jones. He spent the last 10 years as a volunteer in the Emergency Department at the hospital and made numerous friends while there.
He is survived by his sister, Patricia (Greg) Pronko, Fredericton; brothers, Richard (Irene), Sydney, Lou (Heather), Ottawa, Danny (Dawn), Fredericton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

As per Eugene’s wishes, there will be no service of remembrance.
Instead, donations to the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of SW Chant & Son Funeral Home.
