Catherine McGrath
McGRATH, CATHERINE
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Elizabeth McGrath, 64, on Saturday September 26 in Ajijic Mexico after a brief illness. Born in Moncton NB to Stan and Corinne (Bourque) McGrath, Catherine grew up in Moncton but over the years lived in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
She had been living in Mexico for the past three years where she fulfilled her dream of living in a warm climate. She loved to dance, loved palm tress and long walks on the beach. While living in Ajijic, she quickly integrated herself into the community as she was a very caring woman who took a sincere interest in people and was always there to help whenever she could.
Catherine is survived by her loving husband, Glenn Watson, her step-daughters Nova Watson and Brie Ufnal (Joe), step-son Lorne Watson, brother Eric McGrath (Bonny Nadeau), niece Melissa Hamel (Tim), grandchildren Philip, Jacob, Lexi, Caiden, Cameron and Neveah along with aunts Joan, Betty, Stella, Beulah, uncle Doug, numerous cousins and friends.
A celebration of her life was held at Glenn and Catherine's residence in Ajijic on Monday, October 5.
Glenn has requested that any memorial donations be made to a go fund me campaign to help defray the medical costs incurred during her illness and help get Glenn and Catherine home to Canada.
