In loving memory of Harold Clark Mabey, 79, of New Glasgow formerly of Westville, who passed away peacefully in the Aberdeen Hospital, on Friday October 23, 2015 surrounded by his children and his sister.
Born in New Glasgow, he is the son of the late Albert and Pearl (Dunn) Mabey.
A life long antique auto enthusiast and owner, Harold enjoyed going to car shows with his children and grandchildren. He was formerly a bus driver, working alongside friends at Pictou County Bus Lines, The Acadian Bus Lines and Irving Bus Lines. Harold was most proud of becoming a member of the New Glasgow Fire Department, where he remained an active fire truck driver until his retirement.
He is survived by his daughters, Paula Fraser, Westville, and Kim MacPherson (Jason), New Glasgow; his sons, John Mabey (Joni), Westville, Peter Mabey (Susan), Westville, Jimmy Mabey (Ann), New Glasgow and Hal Maybe (Tammy), Pictou; his sister, Sadie Barnes, New Glasgow; his grandchildren, Ronnie Mabey, Carol Mabey, Heather Mabey-Johnstone, Jolene Mabey-Smith, Tristan Mabey, Billy Mabey, Mellie Mabey, Jennifer Mabey-Lumsden, Amanda Mabey-Rogers, Bobby Mabey, Jimmy Mabey, Mathew Mabey, Laura Mabey, Austin Maybe, Dylan Maybe and Melissa MacPherson; and his beloved dog, Jake.
Harold was predeceased by an infant daughter, Shawn Marie, son William (Willy), brother, Aubrey, sister Margaret Campbell, infant brother, William, son-in-law, Hugh Fraser, brother-in-law, David Barnes.
In respect of our father's wishes of not wanting a visitation or funeral services, our family will be placing a private memorial headstone in his memory at a later date.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses of the Aberdeen Hospital and the Oddfellows Home in Pictou.
