SNOW, Irma Florence, 97, Lower Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 25, 2015 with family by her side. Born in Lower Ohio she was a daughter of the late Henry and Minnie (Harris) Bower. Irma was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother; her family meant everything to her. During the war years Irma acted as an airplane spotter. In her earlier years she was a switch operator for the local telephone company. Irma was very skilled in knitting, crocheting, quilting and cross stitching. She was a great fan of the Blue Jays. She enjoyed trivia, playing cards and participating in the Seniors Games held in Shelburne. Irma is survived by son, Bill (Mary); daughters, Alice (Tom); Mary (Phillip); Margie; daughter-in-law, Shirley Snow; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; son, Gordon; brothers, Edward and Roland; sisters, Hilda and Helen; granddaughter, Joan; great-grandson, Brandon, sons-in-law, Owen and Garry. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. No visitation by request. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 31 at 2pm in the Lower Ohio Union Church with Rev. Joanne McFadden officiating. Family flowers only. Burial in Lower Ohio Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lower Ohio Union Church or Lower Ohio Community Hall.
