At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, October 26, 2015 of Florence Edith MacCannell (MacRae), RN, of Canoe Cove, age 94 years.
Florence obtained her teaching certificate from Prince of Wales College in 1938. She joined the civil service in Ottawa during WWII for the war effort. Florence returned to Prince Edward Island following the war to train as a registered nurse. She was a medical nurse at the P.E.I. Hospital for many years.
Dear mother of Lillian MacCannell, Duncan, Rosemary White, Bill, Janice Nordquist (John). Mother-in-law of Neil Chapman. Loving grandmother of Shannon MacRae, Mark Chapman, Sandy Chapman (Katie), James White, Thomas White, Madeleine MacCannell, Catherine MacCannell, Will MacCannell, Jack Nordquist and Jane Nordquist and great-grandmother of Devon MacRae. Predeceased by her husband John T. "Jack" MacCannell by her daughter Anne Chapman and son Russell.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Canoe Cove Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 5-8 p.m.
