Myrtle C. Haley
Pictou - HALEY, Myrtle Christine , age 87, quietly, peacefully passed Sunday, November 1, 2015 at home in Valley View Villa, Riverton.
Born in Baddeck Bay March 22, 1928 to the late John & Etta MacLeod, a sister for brother, Carl, she was raised in Port Bevis, and moved to Division Road, Central Caribou in 1941, where she attended Central Caribou School and later Pictou Academy.
Remembered by many selling tickets to the movies at ‘The Capital’, she went on to marry the projectionist and raise her family in Pictou. Always busy, she could be found working at Dr. Smith’s, the Town Hall, Hindi Shop at Christmas or the Tourist Bureau in the summer, typing for First Church at home, or at the Liberal Hall for elections, never missing a monthly meeting of Lodge with the Rebekahs or First Church W.M.S.
She is survived by sons, Blake (Leanne) and Robert (Nancy), Pictou; her grandchildren, Keegan (Randi), Kristin, Greg and Jennifer.
She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband, Harold “Stull” Haley; brother, Carl MacLeod; and an infant brother at birth.
Speaking for Mom, I say thank you to all at Valley View Villa. Your love, care and friendship will never be forgotten.
There will be no visitation by request.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday from First Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with Jacquie Ross officiating. Private family burial will be in Seaview Cemetery.
A reception will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only please.
