Malchow: Vera Irene Malchow, age 101, of Swift Current, SK passed away October 22, 2015. The Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 30, 2015 from First United Church, Swift Current, SK with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. The Life Tribute was presented by Pat Friesen. The Ushers were Tyler Klassen and Travis Klassen. The Pallbearers were Adam Malchow, Roger Malchow, Larry Klassen, George Scott, Adam Scott and Wes Friesen. The Interment Service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Vera is survived by her husband; Owen Malchow; son Hugh James (Marilyn) Robertson; daughter Norma (Gordon) Scott; grandchildren Stacey Robertson, Lonnie Robertson, George Scott, Adam Scott and Heather (David) Martin; five great grandchildren; Owen's children Connie (Larry) Klassen and Roger (Carolyn) Malchow and their children and families. She was predeceased by her first husband Mathias (Matt) Robertson and grandson Jason Robertson, four brothers Floyd, Wilfred, Chester and Hugh and two sisters Anona and Edith. Vera was born on August 1, 1914 in the Success District. She attended Normal School and then taught at various schools in Success and Swift Current as a teacher and principal. Vera will be remembered by the many students she taught over her long career. She was a member of the Eastern Star. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and teaching piano.
