It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Kathleen Ruby Hood, age 57, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Florence on March 26, 1958, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Delbert and Doris (Butts) MacLean. For a number of years she was employed as a fish plant worker and later as a seamstress manufacturing rain gear.
She is survived by her husband, Carmen Hood; her son, Daniel Allan (Heather) March, Greenwood, N.S. and daughter, Sharlene March (Shannon), Toronto; one grandson, Jeremy Tremblett, Ontario; her six sisters, Sherry (Martin) Pottie, Alberta, Lynn (Dean) Standing, Halifax, Laurie (Robert) Musgrave, Sydney Mines, Carol Ann (Brian) Steeves, Sydney, Sandra (Walter) Best, North Sydney, Barbara (Wayne) Morris, New Glasgow; her three brothers, Delbert MacLean, Ontario, Dwayne (Mary) MacLean, New Brunswick, Darrell MacLean, Florence, a number of nieces and nephews and will be missed by her pets, Kovo, Max, Sophia and Sasha.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Velvet Juanita MacLean.
Visitation for Kathleen will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, followed by a prayer service officiated by Pastor Jason Homan. Burial will follow at a later date.
