Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, Mr. Cyril V. Thornhill of Clarke's Beach, aged 76 years. Predeceased by parents Captain Arch and Ruth Thornhill (nee Williams); parents-in-law Frank and Geraldine Mercer; brothers-in-law Robert Dyckson, George Dobson, Eric (Loretta) Mercer; sisters-in-law Geraldine Baker, Carol Roberta - died in infancy. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Sylvia (nee Mercer); sons Paul (Natasha) Thornhill, Andrew (Cherilyn Carson); sisters Catherine (Harry) Steele, Florence Dobson; brother Roland (Bonnie) Thornhill; grandchildren Madeline Carson-Thornhill, Olivia Carson-Thornhill, Joshua Thornhill and Isaac Thornhill; brothers-in-law Austin (RubyAnn) Mercer, Howard (Carol) Mercer, Ches Baker; sisters-in-law Emily Dyckson, Lillian (Harry) Crawford and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Cyril was a former employee of Air Canada and attended Prince of Wales College, St. John's. Cremation has taken place. Family will be receiving guests at Moore's Funeral Home, Clarke's Beach on Sunday 2-5 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 2 PM from Clarke's Beach United Church, Clarke's Beach with inurnment to follow in the Clarke's Beach United Cemetery, Clarke's Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clarke's Beach United Church Cemetery Fund.
