McCARTHY, DENISE MARIE THERESA
The death of Denise McCarthy of Saint John, beloved wife of 60 years to Robert McCarthy occurred on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on September 30, 1932 in Lac-Mégantic, QC, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Marie (Lavallee) Badeau.
Prior to her retirement, Denise owned and operated her own day care facility. She always took great comfort in her faith and was an active volunteer throughout her parish. Denise enjoyed her time volunteering as a Brownie Leader and also loved to knit for Hestia House and the Empty Stocking Fund. She will be sadly missed.
In addition to her husband, Robert, Denise is also survived by their children, John McCarthy (Nina) of Fredericton and Janice McCarthy (Timothy Bell-Smith) of Grand Bay-Westfield; brother, Real Badeau (Margaret) of Saint John; sisters, Juliette Coholan (Donald), Margaret Wallace and Claire Gogan all of Saint John; precious grandchildren, Abigail McCarthy and Zoe Bell-Smith; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Denise was also predeceased by her grandson, Brendan McCarthy; brothers, Robert, Emile, Leo, Roger, Rosaire and Lionel; as well as sisters, Jean, Cecile and Louise.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, West Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Wednesday, November 11 and Thursday, November 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose of Lima Church, 541 Milford Road, West Saint John on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
