Dr. Arthur Robin Robinson
Robinson, Dr. Arthur Robin - aged 72, passed away on Sunday, November 8th in the Colchester East Hants Hospital after a short illness. Robin was born in Montreal, Quebec and spent his early years in Quebec trapping, hunting and fishing with family members. He attended McDonald College for his undergraduate degrees and earned his PHD from McGill in 1974. He began his academic career at NSAC in Truro and retired as full professor of biochemistry after 36 years. He was awarded the honor of professor emeritus in 2011. During his life Robin especially enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisher, enjoyed fly tying, canoeing and just being in the woods. He was a real "Redneck" in that he could fix anything if it didn't have to look good! Robin is survived by his loving wife Barbara, his children, Ryan, Reid (Odessa), Kelley (Andy), and Kent, his step-children, Natascha (Jon), Ted (Diane),Tamara (Chris) and 11 grandchildren as well as his sister Nancy (Brian) and brother Randall (Cathy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Robin was loved by so many people and we will all miss his wit and kindness. There will be a reception to celebrate Robin's life from 2-4 pm on Saturday November, 14th in the Foyer of Cumming Hall on the Agricultural Campus of Dalhousie University on College Road in Bible Hill Nova Scotia. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation, McGill University or the Agricultural Campus of Dalhousie University.
