Passed away peacefully at Chancellor Park on Tuesday, November 10th, 2015, Melvin Wallace Squires at the age of 80 years, of St. Phillips. Melvin is predeceased by his mother, father, and father-in-law. Leaving to mourn are his wife of 58 years Cynthia Squires; daughters Marilyn Dawe (Jim), Thora Stanley (Cliff), Wanda Janes (Harold); son Harvey Squires; granddaughters Sheshona Duff (Chris), Jamie Evans (Ian), Holly Parrell (Richard), Dawn Janes; grandsons Shawn Dawe, Bradley Stanley (Leslie), William Squires, Jared Janes; eight loving great-grandchildren Brendan, Christian, and Dustan Duff, Gavin and Nathan Evans, Curtis and Cailyn Parrell, and Sophia Stanley; mother-in-law Lossie Pitcher, and a number of in-laws. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of 2 West at Chancellor Park. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St John's, Thursday November 12th, 2015 from 2-9 p.m, and Friday, November 13th, 2015 from 10 a.m - 9 p.m. A funeral service will take place from St. Phillip's Anglican Church, on Saturday, November 14th, 2015 at 11 a.m, with interment to follow in the St. Phillip's Anglican Cemetery.
