Maurice Gerald "Gerry" Trim

TRIM, MAURICE GERALD "GERRY"
Gerry Trim of Quispamsis passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Remembrance Day with his wife at his side. Born Halloween of 1930 in Reading Berkshire, UK, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Adaline Trim.
Gerry was married in 1961 to Val Harrison He worked at the Royal Air Craft Establishment Farnborough 1947-1955, interrupted by National service in the Royal Marines for 18 months; he worked two years in Kenya for the police force from 1955-57 as an inspector.
Gerry then worked in the Oil Industries in different countries including Bahrain for 11 years, Belgium 2 years and the UK before coming to Saint John in 1975 to the Irving Oil Refinery, retiring in 1992. He was an active member of the Outdoor Enthusiast Club and a volunteer at the Canadian Blood Service and volunteered Income Tax preparations.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 54 years Val Trim of Quispamsis; daughter Amanda Petersen of Rothesay; and son Robin Trim (Lisa) of Quispamsis; grandchildren Alicia Petersen, Jacob Martin, Tommy Petersen and Anthony Trim; great-grandsons Roland and Jeremy.
Besides his parents, Gerry was predeceased by his brothers George and John.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). By Gerry’s request there will be no visitation or service.
In lieu of flowers donations in Gerry’s memory can be made to the Parkinson’s Society.
