Passed in: North Sydney
Passed on: November 12th, 2015

On Thursday morning, Nov.12, 2015, at the Northside General Hospital, after a lengthy illness, our beautiful mother left us to be reunited with her one and only love, Johnny. She waited 28 years to be with him again, and now we know she is happy and at peace.
A very devout, religious lady, she was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows, Gannon Road, and then to wherever her sister Joanie and Fred took her for Sunday mass, until her health started to fail.
Ann was born in Rameau, Nfld., on July 14, 1926, to her birth parents, James and Frances (Anderson) Kendell, but was raised by her mother and father, Michael and Lucy (Anderson) Matheson.
Left to mourn her are her son, Michael (Donna); daughters, Ann Marie (Mel) Anderson and Mary Cecilia Holic (Kenny) and daughters-in-law, Rita (Frank) and Susan, all of North Sydney. Also left are her brothers, Austin and Billy Matheson; sisters, Lucy Kendall, Ontario, Beatrice Savory, Port Aux Basques, Aggie Nichol, Florence MacDonald, Joan Boutilier, Cecilia Harvey and Betty MacNeil, all of Sydney Mines.
She was also blessed with nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by her husband John T. Holic; sons, Jackie and Gerard; granddaughter, Darlene and brothers, Stanley and Leo Matheson.
Visitation for Ann Holic will be held in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, from 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will take place Monday at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. The burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Sydney Mines. A reception will follow the service, in the parish hall.
Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
“You knew you were lucky and a friend of Ann’s, for when she found you needed help with prayer in your life, and you were put on her “LIST” and prayed for every day.”
