Suddenly at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Friday, November 13, 2015 of Melvin W. Stetson of South Freetown, aged 85 years.
Born in Freetown on July 25, 1930 son of the late Fred and Elizabeth (Drummond) Stetson. Husband of Grace (Murphy) Stetson.
Father of Karen (Noel) MacFarlane, North Carleton; John (Shelley) Stetson, Freetown and Kevin (Catherine) Stetson, Summerside. Grandfather to Jeffrey MacFarlane, Jordan Stetson, Michelle Stetson, Kaio (Orrin) Esau, Luca Stetson and Roshandra Stetson. Brother of Margaret Stetson, Summerside and Chester Stetson, South Freetown. Predeceased by his sisters, Anna Stetson, Freda (Cecil) Parsons. Uncle of David Parsons (Louise Arsenault), Spring Valley. Brother-in-law of Erma (Wendell) Weeks, Alberton; Carman (Judy) Murphy, Freeland; George (Barb) Murphy, MacNeills Mills; and Ruth Barlow, Summerside. Also surviving are numerous Murphy nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Doreen (Keith) Dawson and Harry Barlow.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home for visitation on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Monday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Interment in Freetown People's Cemetery.
