It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Joseph Adams which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 14th, 2015. Born 1932 in Greenock, Scotland he was the son of the late Jessie and David Adams.
Joe moved to Canada in 1961 and worked for the Saint John Ship Building for 31 years. He was an accomplished wood worker and built his family home where he and his wife of 63 years raised 3 children. He enjoyed being around family and loved to dance and have a good time. Joe was very supportive of his family’s lives. He loved his camp on Grand Lake and later his trailer at the Hilltop Campground in Calais, ME. Joe enjoyed talking to people on his daily rounds to Tim Hortons, banking and shopping. He worked happily around his home right up to his unexpected passing from Cancer which took him very quick.
Joe is survived by his sons William (Mary) of Long Reach, Joseph (Crystal) of Red Head; daughter Irene Lawson (Eddie) of St. Martins; grandchildren Andrew, Amanda, Gregory, Joshua, Jacqueline; great-grandchildren Noah, Henry and Landen; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his wife Catherine, sisters Nellie and Isabele, brothers Samuel and David and grandson Robert.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with a Memorial Service taking place at the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Wednesday, November 18th, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the SPCA-Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor's choice.
