1935 - 2015
Marye Elizabeth (Myers) DeLong of the Jordan’s Life Care Center, River Glade, NB, formerly of Riverview, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015, surrounded by her family and loved ones after nearly a decade-long battle with ALS. Born in Norton, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and Thelma (Dimock) Myers, at the time of her passing she was in her 81st year.
She will be dearly missed by her surviving children: Jeffery (Roberta LeBlanc) DeLong (Moncton, NB), April (David) Capper (Winnipeg, MB), John (Colleen Carron) DeLong (Kentville, NS) and Stephen (Cheryl Thomas) DeLong (Lower Coverdale, NB); and by her grandchildren: Matthew and Timothy Capper (Winnipeg, MB), Danielle (Moncton, NB), Sean, Emma, Sophia and Michael DeLong (Kentville, NS), and Daniel and Alexis DeLong (Lower Coverdale, NB). She is also survived by two brothers: John (Francis Gorham) Myers (Fredericton) and Harold (Marie Burden) Myers of Coquitlam, British Columbia and by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Leonard Myers.
Marye worked for many years as a clerical office administrator for Drs. Rooney (periodontist) and Lanteigne (dentist) until her retirement in 2000.
She enjoyed gardening and the great outdoors, reading, cooking, spending much time with her family,
and church-related activities (especially singing in the choir). She was well known for her servant-heart,
jovial spirit and Christian faith.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, NB, (869-2007), where a service celebrating her life will take place on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jonathan Gorham officiating. A private family graveside committal service will take place at the Riverbank Community Cemetery (Riverbank, NB) at a later date.
