Passed away suddenly yet peacefully at the HSC on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, James (Jim) Ryan of St. John's, age 66 years. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Ryan, brother Bill, young sister Mary Elizabeth and father-in-law Randal Penney. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Catherine (Penney), son Dennis, sisters and brothers Maureen Wood (John) in Ottawa, Frank (Lynn) St. John's, Sister Rosemary RSM (Mercy Convent) St. John's, Mercedes Knudsen (Al) in Calgary, Joanne MacKinnon (Barry) in Ottawa, John (Peggy Sue) St. John's, mother-in-law Gitta Penney, brothers and sisters-in-law of the Penney Family Rick (Dianne), Bernard (Linda), Randy , Brian (Sharon), Kevin (Moira), Sister Eileen RSM (St. Joseph's Convent); sister-in-law Grace Ryan, aunt Maureen Ryan, special uncle-in-law Archbishop A.L. Penney, close friend John Kennedy, many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd., on Saturday, Nov. 21st, 2-4, 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4, 7-9 with Mass of Christian burial from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. with inurnment to take place later at Belvedere Cemetery.
