The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of the Community Hospital, O’Leary, on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, of Rita Chaisson of St. Edward aged 92 years. Wife of the late Wilfred Chaisson. She was born in St. Edward on December 8, 1922, the daughter of the late Ben and Madeline (Gaudet) Bernard. She is survived by sons and daughters Isidore, Hamilton, Ont.; Aubrey (Melita) Chaisson, Joy (Dave) Murray, Bernard (Joanne) Chaisson, Pat (Diane) Chaisson all of St. Edward; Anne Chaisson, Charlottetown; and a daughter-in-law Erna Chaisson, Ontario. Dear sister to Gerard Bernard, Toronto, ON. Loving grandmother to 25 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her parents Ben and Madeline, husband Wilfred, son Danny, daughter Brenda and granddaughter Jennifer Currie. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Monday 1-2:30 p.m. Funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 23, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, with funeral mass at 3 p.m. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
