Entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, Father David Butler, age 65, born on Bell Island on March 22, 1950. Father Dave was ordained to the Priesthood on May 12, 1976 and ministered in the Parishes of Christ the King, Rushoon, Immaculate Conception, Cape Broyle, St. John Bosco, Shea Heights, St. Michael's, Bell Island, Holy Trinity, Torbay, and Holy Family, Paradise. Predeceased by parents William and Margaret Butler, and brother Myles and brother-in-law Ken Conway. Leaving to mourn his family members Paula Butler (Jocelyn), Margaret Ann Morris (Keith), Connie Conway (Gus), Harold (Shelley), Neil and Alicia Bowers (Tom), sister-in-law Mary Butler, as well as his brother priests in the Archdiocese of St. John's. Visitation will take place at Holy Family Church, St. Thomas Line, Paradise, on Tuesday, Nov. 24 from 2:30 p.m. to conclude with Liturgy of the Word at 9 p.m., and at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, on Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 11 a.m. to conclude with Night Prayer at 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Thursday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. Remains will then be transferred to St. Michael's Church, Bell Island, for visitation on Thursday from 7-9 pm, and on Friday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Michael's Cemetery after Mass to be followed by a Reception at St. Michael's Parish Hall.
