Odette Losier

LOSIER, ODETTE LOUISE
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Odette L. Losier (Mai) announces her passing, which occurred on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Loch Lomond Village. Born in La Rochefoucauld, France on May 24, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Francois and Marie (Corbiat) Mai.
Odette was born in a small village in the south of France and moved to Paris as a girl. During her youth, she shared her time between the city and the countryside. She lived through the Second World War in Paris before immigrating to Canada as a War bride in February of 1949. She was a strong minded, independent and hard working woman who raised five children while fulfilling roles at an insurance company by day and a cashier at Dominion Stores by night in addition to being an awesome mother. She loved music, dancing, gardening and cooking. Her door was always open to those she loved along with a seat at the kitchen table. She held a special place in her heart for her furry and feathered friends. She will be fondly remembered for her famous Sunday dinners, her wonderful sense of humour, and her unique ability to make everyone laugh.
She will be missed by her children, Francine Arseneau (Robert), Patrick Losier, Brian Losier, Cathy Losier and Bob Losier (Janet); grandchildren, Natalie, Monique, Jonathan, Jennifer, Shaun, Amanda and Michelle; and great-grandchildren, Jeromey and Linnea.
Odette’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank-you to Sandy and Donna at The Village, as well as all doctors and staff for their compassionate care of Odette during her stay with them.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7425). As per Odette’s request, visitation will be held privately, however, all are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption church, 360 Dufferin Row, Saint John on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 1:00 PM.
For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, SPCA Animal Rescue or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
