It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Caroline MacDougall, on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mom died at home surrounded by those who loved her dearly.
Born in Capstick, Victoria County on Nov. 6, 1935, Caroline was the daughter of the late Euphemia Burton.
She was strong in mind and body and she fought a long hard battle. Her courage and determination will never be forgotten. She will be remembered for her love of music and dancing, her friendly smile, and charm that brought joy to those who knew her.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Kenny (Jessie) MacDougall, Wayne (Florence) MacDougall, Alice (Carl) Musial and Martin (Lisa) MacDougall and her grandchildren. Also left to mourn are her sister Paula (Russell) MacNeil, and stepsister Barbara Campbell.
She was predeceased by her sister Alice and her brother John.
On Mom’s behalf, the family would like to thank those who made her final days as comfortable as possible; the VON, Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, and the Northside Home Care Workers.
Special thanks to her devoted son and best friend, Marty, who was her guardian angel.
Visitation for Caroline MacDougall will be held in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. The burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart,
for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.
