HARRIS, Charles Steven “Chuck”, Welshtown, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Roseway Hospital on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the age of 59. Chuck was born on June 10, 1956 in Shelburne. He grew up in Welshtown on the Harris family farm with his five siblings. Chuck worked for the Department of Transportation as an inspector for thirty years where he formed many great friendships, especially his two cohorts, Danny MacAlpine and Danny Mason. Chuck was passionate about hunting and spending time up the hay road. As a child he was a member of the Ohio 4-H Club and enjoyed playing softball and soccer. His later years he could often be found enjoying a project involving his heavy equipment. In his down time he loved watching Coronation Street, browsing the Dollarama for prank gifts to give to his family and look forward to family gatherings where he would delight in teasing all the children. Chuck is survived by his beloved children, Stephen Charles Harris (Natalie Dagenais), Ottawa, ON; Lisa Marie Harris (Greg Hatter), Cape Negro; and mother of his children, Cindy Harris, Cape Negro; his grandchildren, Dylan, Hailey, Shawna, Carson, Isaiah, Colten and Mya; his siblings, Anthony (Susan), Fredericton, NB; Wayne (Angela), Shelburne; Jeffrey (Judy), Welshtown; Mary (Samuel) Scott, West Green Harbour; and Judith Harris (Joris), Netherlands; his long-time companion, Laurie Renaud and his many nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, and great, great nephew. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Emma (Bower) Harris. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 3 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home where the funeral will be held on Friday, December 4 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Lower Ohio Cemetery.
