It is with great sadness that the family of the late Violet Greta George announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the age of 95 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Terry Coates (Tasha), Lorraine Odea (Wilson), Joy Strong (Sherman), Brenda Baker (Vincent), Doreen Hynes (Kevin), Marion Glines (Leonard), Ross Day (Carol), Everett Day (Barbara), Clem Day, Ford Day (Patricia), and Ron Day (Florence); sister Verna Baker; 34 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Simion and Dora Downton; son Freeman; sisters: Beatrice, Philiphemia, Millie, and Jessie; brother Dorman; daughters-in-law Jane Day and Roxanne Coates; and son in law Jim Murphy. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Monday, November 30, 2015 between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the Pentecostal Church in Browns Arm on Tuesday, from where the Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, Brown's Arm. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
