It is with great sadness that the family of the late Augustus (Gus) Eric Humber announces his passing on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at his residence in Port Saunders at the age of 80 years. Gus was born in Norris Point to the late Evangeline and George Humber. He leaves to mourn, with fond and loving memories, daughters: June (Garland) Taylor, Linda (Scott) Taylor, Belinda (Austin) Holloway, and Connie (Ellis) Bartlett; sons: Fred (Maggie) Humber and Ronald Humber; brothers: Hayward (Ivy) Humber, and Tom (Kay) Humber; sisters: Catherine (Gordon) Laing, Leona (Marvin) Cluney, Edna (Willie) Maynard, Margaret Laing, Thelma (Manual) Payne, and Gladys (Edward) Payne; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gus is predeceased by parents Evangeline and George Humber, sister Edith Laing and brother-in-law Clarence Laing. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service honoring Gus's life was held at St. John the Devine Anglican Church in Port Saunders on Friday, December 4 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made In Memoriam to the Tri-Town Lions Club RV Park, Port au Choix.
