
Clair Auld Matthews
1933-2015
At the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday December 2, 2015, with his loving family by his side, of Clair Auld Matthews of Montrose age 82 years. Born April 14, 1933, he was the son of the late Rusell and Lou (nee Ramsay) Matthews of Dock, P.E.I. He will be sadly missed by his friend Eleanor Fraser of Northport and her family. Dear father to Debbie (Reg) Harper of Grand Prairie, Alberta; Donna (Doug) Fraser of Huntley; Jim (Bonnie) of Montrose; Brian (Amanda) of Montrose; Wayne (Laura Lee) of Montrose; Gail (Paul) Perry of Montrose. Cherished grandfather to Kurtis (Peg) Harper, Tanya Harper (Colin), Christopher (Jill) Fraser, Jennifer (Jamie) LeClair, Krystal (Jason) Hackett, Jeremy (Alena) Matthews, Kandice Matthews, Lynsay Betts (Daniel), Tyler Deagle, Chelsay Matthews, Lyndsay Matthews (Tyler), Shanae Matthews, Devon Perry, Fallon Perry. Great-grandfather to Vaughn, Vance, Olin, Anita, Anthony, Olivia, Rebecca, Branne, Brooke, Kolby, Klaire, Sophey, Mariah, Callie, Bradley, Kadrien, Sarina and Dallis. He is also survived by his sister Maywood (Fred) Dorman of Chilliwack, B.C., and by sisters and brother-in-law Guelda Matthews of Montrose, Blanche Hutt of Alberton, Betty Matthews of Alberton, and Fred Hamill of Northport. He was predeceased by his wife Anita (nee Hamill) Matthews, grandsons Cory and Brandon, and by siblings, Lowell, Glenn, Kenneth, Haldine, Noelle, Fred, Florence, Glennie, Wendell and by Florence and Gwendolyn in infancy. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Sunday from the Gordon Memorial United Church, Alberton, at 2 p.m. Rev. Lynn McKinnon officiating. Interment in the Montrose United Church Cemetery.
