Lyle Brown
Brown, Lyle Wayne
The family of Lyle Wayne Brown regretfully announces his passing following a brief illness. He was born May 27, 1941, in Fredericton, the son of the late Donald and Jean (Laurie) Brown.
Lyle will be greatly missed by his surviving siblings, Laurie Brown (Thelma) of Saint John, NB, Neil Brown (Donna) of Ottawa, ON, Paul Brown (Linda) of Moncton, NB, Patricia Campbell (Gordon) of Staples Settlement, NB, Veeta Pert (Don) of Fredericton, NB, Daniel Brown (Helen) of Hanwell, NB, and sister-in-law Mona Brown of Bathurst, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lyle was predeceased by his two brothers, Byron and Neddie.
Lyle spent the first 65 years of his life at the family home on Argyle Street. Lyle was very proud to be able to work for the city of Fredericton collecting tickets at the ice rink at the Coliseum under the watchful eye of John Hickey. He became friends with some City employees as well, and spent some interesting times with them. He also had a love of horse racing and enjoyed years of happy times with the patrons and staff at that facility. He never lost a bet, but never made a penny, always came out even.
With the passing of both his parents, Lyle decided to strike out on his own, and eventually began his life at Southside Special Needs Home in Skyline Acres. He quickly accepted his extended family and thrived in its loving atmosphere. He made great friends in the house, going for walks, movies, crafts, as well as bowling for the Special Olympics on Saturdays.
We wish to thank Angela, Carol and their families, support workers, Sandra and all friends at the home for your unfailing love and care of our special brother. We would also like to thank the Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care of Lyle.
There will be no visitation by request of the family. A Private memorial service will be held for the immediate family. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Lyle’s memory can be made to the Special Olympics. Online condolence may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com
