RCAF Veteran WWII
Passed peacefully away 4 December 2015, at Tiffany Village, St John's NL at the age of 93. Daughter of the late Reg. and Olive Edwards and wife of the late J.D. (Jake) Twining. She is survived by sons: Greg (Mary Beth) in St. John's, NL, Dan (Shirley Hornich) in Fort Erie, ON, and Tom (Barb) in Oshawa ON, grandchildren Janet (Art Broadbent), Douglas (Pam), Brianne (Shane) and Tyler, great-granddaughters Lilly and Dori, and by her sister Sheila Fehr (Elmer) in Kelowna B.C. and a circle of nephews and nieces and friends. Ed was born in Lashburn, Sask. on 1 Feb 1922. She voluntarily enrolled in the RCAF during WWII. While serving in western Canada she met and married her loving and devoted husband Jake. At the conclusion of the war they moved to Ontario, where they raised their family. She lived in Toronto, St. John's NF, St. Catharine's, ON, and returned to St. John's in 2009, where they were the first residents of the Tiffany Village Retirement Home. Sincere thanks to the staff of the Tiffany for their compassionate, professional and dedicated support. Cremation has taken place. Private family services to follow.
