Age 70 of Fort Ellis, Nova Scotia, died peacefully on Nov. 30 2015, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with his loving wife by his side.
He was born in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton on July 5, 1945, the youngest child of Charles Columbia Brown and Lillian (MacDonald) Brown.
He was the beloved husband of Wendy Evelyn (Wood) Brown.
He is survived by his brother Franklin 'Blair' Brown (Patti) of Halifax, and his son Brian, Stewiacke, and daughter Melinda May (Rusty) of Port Hope, Ont. He treasured his grandchildren Lindsey and Amanda May, Jordell Cameron, Bryce and Melanie Brown. Lindsay was a member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Sydney Mines and a past Lions Club of Port Hope Ontario.
He had a 32-year career with Ontario Power Generation before retiring in 2002 and returning to his Nova Scotia roots. He was also an avid 'tinkerer' and fine woodworking craftsman.
A “Remember Lindsay” drop-in will be held on Monday, Dec. 7 from 2:30-4 p.m. at Tim Hortons in Stewiacke. Cremation has taken place under the care of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A private interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Way of Nova Scotia or to a charity of choice.
