RICHARDS, EDWARD C. "TED"
1934 - 2015
Edward Colin “Ted” Richards, husband of Betty Richards, of Schooner Point Road, who passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at the age of 91. Born in Digby, N.S., on May 11, 1934, he was the son of the late Ray and Ethel (Hill) Richards.
He was a retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces (Machinist). Ted was an avid outdoorsman, a dedicated coach and player with basketball. He was an capable Mr. Fix It for everything around the house.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Lynn Bertin (Brad), of Napanee, Ont. And Bonny Richards, of Pembrook, Ont.; two sisters, Calvertta Shorten, of Tremouth, N.S. and Roberta Clarke, of Ottawa, Ont.; five grandchildren, Lisa, Matthew, Sarah (Matt), David, Shawn; one great grandchild, Emily; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Kerri Richards.
At his request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A public funeral service will be held from Carmel United Church, on Friday, December 11, 2015, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in Miramichi, at a later date.
