Gabrielle Jaillet

JAILLET, GABRIELLE ALINE
It is with saddened hearts that the family announces the death of Gabrielle “Gabby” Jaillet at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, December 5th, 2015. She was born in Grand Bank, NL on February 15th, 1981, to Gilles and Brenda (Comeau) Jaillet.
Gabrielle had a huge heart and loved life. She will be missed by many. Gabby and her fiancé, Shawn, shared a soft spot for animals and their cats were treated as part of their family. She had several passions including reading, learning, music, collecting and travelling. Her devotion to reading and learning earned her a degree in Psychology and a degree in Criminology both from St. Thomas University. She also trained, with her family, in Karate, putting her drive for learning in a different direction. Her passion for music lead her to become a great pianist and she was often found listening to any type of music. She especially enjoyed the play The Phantom of the Opera for its theatrics and for its musical flow. Her collection of snow globes was second to none and most were proudly displayed atop her kitchen cabinets for all to enjoy. For a young woman, her travelling was extensive. Growing up she had the opportunity to see all of Canada with her family. She later travelled to Europe and the Dominican Republic and spent many wonderful times with her family in Florida. Gabby was also very crafty and was often found in the middle of projects.
She will be tremendously missed by her fiancé, Shawn Urquhart and will always be in the heart of her parents, Gilles and Brenda Jaillet. To her mother she will always be affectionately remembered as Maggie, to her father, Bébé Lala. Gabby is also survived by “numerous” aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family wish to express their gratitude towards the ICU staff at the DECRH and especially to Dr. Martin. They would also like to thank Pastor Normand McDonald for his many visits and Rev. John Symonds for being there for them even though he lives in Nova Scotia. A special thanks to Dan and April Comeau for being the “go to people” and to Andree and Paul LeBlanc for being with Shawn these last few days.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton on Thursday, December 10th, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will take place at Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church, 53 Corbett Avenue, Fredericton on Friday, December 11th, 2015, at 2:00 pm. Rev. A. J. Plaizier, Rev. John Symonds and Pastor Normand McDonald will officiate at the service. Interment will take place at a later date in the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery.
For those who wish, memorial tributes in Gabrielle’s memory may be made to the Fredericton SPCA and online remembrances can be left at www.mcadamsfh.com.
