We regret to announce the passing of David Alexander Heatlie on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Edinburg, Scotland, he was a son of the late Issac 'Icky' and Matilda (Forbs) Heatlie.
David was a member of the Canadian Army, stationed in Halifax and for 32 years, he worked for Northern Telecom. In his later years, David came to know his God, Jehovah, which brought him great joy.
He is survived by his best friend and companion, Ann McLean; son, Kyle Heatlie; sister, Jessie Nicol (Eddie); brothers, George Heatlie (Maureen Clarke) and Tom Heatlie.
David was predeceased by his wife, Donna and sisters, Peggy Elliot and Jeanette Trotter.
Funeral service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday 1 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
