Bernadette Beehan

Passed on: December 10th, 2015

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved sister Bernadette, at Agnes Pratt Nursing Home on Thursday, December 10, 2015. She is predeceased by two of the most wonderful parents James and Cecilia (Conway) Beehan, sister Anne Wiggens, brothers-in-law Terry Pike and Derm King. Left to celebrate a life well lived is her brother and her buddy Jim (Margaret Ann Power) and sisters Eleanor (Peter Geary), Brenda King and Madonna Pike and brother-in-law Bryan Wiggens, nephews Jonathan Wiggens, Jason Geary and her Godson Christopher Pike, nieces Jennifer Geary, Silya and Kaya Wiggens, Heather and Alyson King, Maria (Ansley) and Carolyn Beehan and Raylene Pike, great-nephews and nieces Nathan and Tyson Geary, Madeline, Chloe and Evan Wiggens, her aunt Eva Beehan and our beloved family friend and spiritual advisor Monsignor (Fr. Jim) Doody and numerous cousins, friends, co-workers and caregivers. A life filled with love, laughter, happiness and accomplishments would best briefly describe Bernadette's time here with us. After her graduation from the Pine Grove School she attended Vera Industries and then went on to Seal Cove College where she received a diploma in Food Service. Through the support of Avalon Employment Inc. Bernadette was gainfully employed up to her retirement in 2010. Bernadette was an accomplished Special Olympian, a polished public speaker and a wonderful musical entertainer. She was most proud of her independent living that gave her a lifestyle enriched with family, friends and co-workers. Bernadette was the light of our lives, like a candle she shared her warmth and light without diminishing her own. Bernadette is resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday from 7-9 pm and on Monday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 9:30 am from St. Patrick's Church on Patrick's Street with cremation to follow. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in her name may be made to Special Olympics St. John's Chapter or to the Agnes Pratt Home Foundation.
