Lorraine Kavanagh (nee Burt)
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Lorraine Kavanagh (nee Burt) of St. John's (formerly Calvert) at 72 years of age. Lorraine passed at the Health Sciences Center, surrounded by her ever-loving family. Born in Clarenville on Sept. 2, 1943, Lorraine is predeceased by her parents, Garland and Anne Burt, stepfather Leonard Peddle and family, loving husband Ambrose Kavanagh, son Leonard and daughter Corrine, brothers Tom, Ray and Ed Burt, along with friends Bride, Nanny Bee and many others who she loved and cared for. Leaving to mourn her daughter Joanne Fennelly (Ron), sons Tony (Jackie), Ted (Amy), Glen (Heidi), grandchildren Jason (Christa), Shawn, Ronnie, Natasha (Charles), Jacob, Jayden, Luke, great-grandchildren Clara Rose, Julian, Donté, brother Garry Burt (Anne), sister Grace Burt, special sister-in-law Alice Kavanagh and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws in the Burt and Kavanagh families, special friends Joyce, Jeannie, Rosie and many more. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and medical staff of the surgical and CVICU units at the Health Sciences Centre; who's care, attention and kind words about our dear mother will never be forgotten and to Ryan's Funeral Home, Father Kenneth Walsh and those who helped out in any way with the service, Mass and reception. Thanks for the overwhelming support from all family and friends and anyone who we may have unintentionally forgotten to mentioned through our tears. Resting at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, on Tuesday December 15th from 1-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place from Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Calvert Wednesday at 10 am, Inurnment to follow at Holy Trinity R.C. Cemetery, Ferryland, followed by an open reception at Calvert Community Centre. Rest in Peace Our Dearest Soul, "See You Later Gator" from all your little ones.
