We, the family of Gladys Carmella Cormier, regret to announce her passing on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Ingonish Ferry on June 4, 1936, Gladys was a daughter of the late Mullins and Mary Ann (Hawley) Hines.
She was employed in the laundry department at St. Rita Hospital, retiring in 1990. Gladys' “Timmy Friends” will miss her during their nightly get togethers.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Mabel Sullivan, Sydney; sons, Charles (Elaine) Cuff, Sydney and James Cuff, Ont.; stepsons, Bryant (Debbie) Cormier and Darrell (Sheila) Cormier, Sydney; five grandchildren, Amy, Jenn, Kevin, Michelle, Alison and two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Jackson.
Gladys was predeceased by her husband, James 'Jocko' Cormier. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was predeceased by four sisters and six brothers.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, 10 a.m., with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
