MUISE, Cpl. Donald William “Bill” (Ret’d. CD) – 74, Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co., passed away suddenly at home on December 12, 2015. Born in Yarmouth, he was the son of the late Samuel and Lydia (Kinney) Muise. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Gloria (Bourque); sons, Frank (Jennifer) and James (Nancy); a daughter, Heather (Mike); grandchildren, Jenna, Olivia, Taylor, Anthony, Alexander, Ryan, Aiden and Brandon, as well as his sister, Ruth (Garnet) White; mother-in-law Sophie Bourque; brothers-in-law, Tom White, Oliver Bourque, Michael Bourque; sisters-in-law, Priscilla Fitzgerald and Yvette d’Eon, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son, Phillip; brothers Walter and Sam; sisters, Helen, Dorothy and Doreen as well as by his father-in-law, Albert Bourque. Bill served 22 years with the Canadian Armed Forces with several postings in Germany, Cyprus and Alert, as well as in many Canadian provinces. Upon his retirement from the Forces, he worked at Alwood Products and as a Commissionaire until his health began to deteriorate. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 2181 Yarmouth, with whose choir he sang, as well as volunteering on several committees. He was also a member of the Fourth Degree Msgr. W. E. Young Assembly 1428 (Yarmouth) of the Knights of Columbus. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday with a Royal Canadian Legion service at 7:30 p.m., followed by prayers at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 17 at Saint Ambrose Cathedral, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Yarmouth Council of the Knights of Columbus, the Yarmouth Site of the VON or to the Salvation Army.
