William (Bill) Porter, of Steam Mill, Kings County, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015, in the Valley Regional Hospital, losing his battle with cancer. At the time of his illness he was employed at Hillaton/Oxford Frozen Food in Canning. He enjoyed painting, scuba diving, motorcycling through the Annapolis Valley, and discussing theories with his friends. He was for many years an amateur radio operator, and because he was an excellent swimmer was able to save his cousin from drowning. Bill had a kind heart and a good sense of humor. He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice (Meyer) Porter. He is survived by his father, Harold (Pat MacLean) Porter, Centreville; his mother, Jacqueline Porter, Dartmouth; a daughter, Lynn (Missy) McBeath, Steam Mill; a son, Scott Porter, Centreville; his brother David (Marilyn) Porter, Dartmouth; his sister Ruth (Gordon Hammond) Porter, New Germany; a grandson, Hayden MacAulay, Greenwood; and his nieces and nephews.
