James A. 'Jim' White

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, uncle and friend, Jim White, a resident of Harbourstone Enhanced Care and formerly of North Sydney, on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in North Sydney he was the son of the late Garfield and Edna (Gillard) White.
Jim was a resident of the Braemore Home for a number of years before moving to Kimberly Hall at Harbourstone.
Jim was passionate about music and enjoyed watching hockey on television especially when his Montreal Canadiens were playing.
He was a former member of Our Lady Of Sorrows Church in North Sydney.
He is survived by his five sisters, Mary Sheppard, Sydney, Cecilia Parsons, Kathy White and Gloria Appleby, all of North Sydney and Cleo (John) MacLeod, Bras d’Or; two brothers, Frank White, Florence and Eddie White, Sydney. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Patsy Donovan and two brothers Jack White and Melvin White.
There will be no visitation by request. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice/Palliative Care of Cape Breton.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
