Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, December 19, 2015 James (Jim) Sparkes of Clarke's Beach (formerly of Cupids), aged 79 years. Predeceased by his wife Betty (nee Mercer), parents Robert and Jessie Sparkes, sister Josephine. Left to mourn his partner Charmane Kitchen, two daughters Debbie (Gerald Murphy), Kim (Dean Richards), three sons Dennis (Paula), Carl (Kathy), Clyde (Bride), four stepsons Donald, Dwayne, Jamie (Alicia), C.C. (Marion), 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, sisters Rita (Richard, deceased), Allison (Ben, deceased), Marion (Kay, deceased), Mary (Grenfield), brother Pete (Brenda), also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Broughton's Funeral Home, Brigus on Monday, December 21st from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m., Tuesday, December 22nd from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral to take place on Tuesday, December 22 nd at 2 p.m. from the Cupids United Church with interment to follow in the U.C. Cemetery, Cupids.
