With a heavy heart, the family of Margaret Wells, announce her peaceful passing on Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at the Cove Guest Home, Sydney, after a difficult battle with alzheimer's disease.
Born in Louisbourg on May 15, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth 'Betty' MacVicar.
Margaret had a heart of gold. She had a big personality and a knack for fashion throughout her employment at MacDonald Jewellers, Tower Jewellers, as well as Joy Gift and Jewelry.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Robert) Franklin, Chester and Gina Wells (Brian), Sydney; sons, Donald (Edith) and Duncan, Sydney. She leaves behind her beautiful grandchildren, Sarah, Laura, Luke, Danielle, Dylan, Onna, Karlee, Seanna and her precious great-grandchildren, Tessa, Talia, Ruby, Keegan, Nora, Tilly and Jaxson. Margaret is also survived by her sisters, Georgina (Richard) Cross, Louisbourg, Annie Tanner, Lunenburg, Gloria Knickle, Lunenburg and Sheila (Greg) Greer, Ont.; brother, Duncan (Chris) MacVicar, Sydney River.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Blandford; son, Phillip Conrad; sister, Joyce Trimm; daughter-in-law, Theresa Wells.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Alban’s Anglican Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, with Archdeacon Brenda Drake officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
