New Glasgow – Audrey Goodman. The Goodman family regrets to share word of the passing on December 21, 2015 of Audrey Henrietta Ruth Goodman (nee Arbuckle) of Valley View Villa, Riverton and formerly of 170 Abercrombie Road, New Glasgow.
Audrey was the wife of New Glasgow businessman Hyman Goodman and was the last of her generation of Goodman brothers, sisters and their spouses.
Well respected for her generous and happy nature, Audrey relished in providing the best in hospitality and frequently enjoyed company of family and friends.
She accompanied her husband Hy Goodman throughout the Maritimes as District Governor of Rotary and was recognized for her service by being selected as a Paul Harris Fellow.
An avid dog lover, Audrey was predeceased by her favourites Perky, Lassie and Abby her beloved West Highland Terrier and constant companion.
Audrey was predeceased by her husband Hyman (Hy) Goodman and parents Margaret and Charles Arbuckle of Trenton.
She is survived by her step sons: Paul Goodman (Mary) of Halifax, Rick Goodman (Nancy) of New Glasgow, grandson Joel Goodman (Sarah) of Toronto, cousins, her very special caregiver and friend Isabel Fancey, and wonderful caregivers-friends Linda and Pat.
Audrey’s family extends their heartfelt thank you to the staff of Valley View Villa, the Aberdeen Emergency Department and the Palliative Care wing of the Aberdeen Hospital for their attentive, supportive and compassionate care.
There will be a celebration of Audrey’s life to be held at R.H. Porter Funeral Home on January 9, 2016 details of which will be announced later and a family burial at Abercrombie Cemetery.
