James Joseph (Jim) Power

Born: January 18th, 1949

Passed on: December 27th, 2015

"From Hospital Bed,
To Heavenly Rest,
God took you home,
To be his guest."
Slipped so peacefully to a far better place on December 27, 2015 after a long and wary struggle with the health issues associated with diabetes. Predeceased by his brother Kevin (November 3, 2004); his father Stephen (July 4, 2009); his mother Margaret (June 1, 2011); his brother Jerry (March 19, 2012) and his brother-in-law Gary Glass (October 30, 2014). Remembering and celebrating his life and zest for all good things are his wife Dallas Anne (Hawco); his brother John; his sisters Peggy Margie Smith (Frank), Rosalita Raciot (Lee), Marilyn Martin (Derrick), Brenda Dowden; Stephanie Carver (Keith), Sandra Power and Sheila Glass. His nephew Matthew Hawco who he thought was the greatest person he knew and whom he was so proud of. His best friend Laurie (Aylward) Murray the day you became a Captain he nearly bursted with pride. The great crowd of Hawco "in-laws" especially his sister-in-law Maxine Hawco and her partner Don Adams. Also, Walter and Lilly Hawco in Mount Carmel, Salmoneir, their door was always opened, and then perhaps the most important people of all - that wonderful group "The Tim Hortons Crowd" especially Randell, Tony, Cy, Frankie, Jason and Robert who he went to see every day and they took the extra time to check on him, get his coffee and make sure he was safe and secure, and how he appreciated the fact that "Matthew's Buddies" would find the time to talk to him - it made him feel young again and a part of the group. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, Torbay on Saturday, January 2, 2016 and Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 1-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, January 4, 2016 from Holy Trinity Parish, at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.

I'm on the road again,
Said good bye to all my friends,
I'm in my eighteen wheeler,
On that stretch of highway,
With Heaven at the end.
