Passed away peacefully at 93 years of age at the Veterans Pavilion early Monday morning. Predeceased by his wife Aileen Mary Coady (nee Power), August 2013. He is fondly remembered by his son Philip and his wife Tammy Coady of Atlanta, Georgia; his brother Frank and sister-in-law Margaret Coady of Ontario, Canada; his sister Mary Coady of Halifax, Nova Scotia; many relatives and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Staff at the Veterans Pavilion on VP 2 South for their caring and kindness towards this Merchant Marine Veteran. He was treated with great dignity for the past 2 1/2 years. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, Le Merchant Road on Wednesday, December 30th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.; Thursday, December 31st from 2-4 p.m. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from Mary Queen of the World Catholic Church, St. John's at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
