GILKS, VESTA
Mrs. Vesta Victoria (Clowater) Gilks, of route 8, Blissfiled, NB, passed away at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton on December 28, 2015 at the age of 94. Born in New Bandon, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Sinclair) Clowater.
Vesta is survived by her daughters; Joyce Lapointe (Gerry) of Westport ON, Susan Amos (Terry) of Blissfield, NB, Sally Price ( late Terry) of Fort McMurray, AB, and sons; Winston (Mona) and Evelock (Eleanor) of Blissfield, NB, brothers; Ralph of Victoria, BC, Ivan (Elva) of New Bandon, NB and Gene of Fredericton, NB, 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband of 73 years, Harold Gilks, Vesta was predeceased by one daughter, Marilyn and one son, Sherman, brothers; Alvin, Vimy and Adrian and sisters; Genevra Pond, Alice (Midge) Babineau, Merna Hickey, Edith Reeves and Irene Clowater.
In keeping with Vesta’s wishes, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Doaktown, NB, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 with Rev. Dr. Brian Spence officiating. Committal at Ford Hollow Cemetery, Blissfield, NB.
