Steeves, Audrey May
1931-2016
Audrey M. Steeves of Hillsborough passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Edgett’s Landing, NB, she was the daughter of the late Fowler and Mary (Milton) Steeves.
Audrey worked for the T. Eaton Co. for several years and later for Cooke’s Variety. She was a member of The Valley Baptist Church in Hillsborough, where she was a very active member having belonged to the Missionary Group and the Women’s Guild. She was one always to keep busy whether she was cooking, playing cards, quilting or taking part in community fairs and functions and loved to shop.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl McIvor (Alan) of Hillsborough, son, Eric Steeves (Deborah) of Edgett’s Landing, sisters; Virginia Berry of Delta, BC, Betty Wright (John) of Edgett’s Landing, grandchildren; Adam and Andrew, Jill and Jonathan, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Earl M. Steeves in 2014, brothers; Milton, Sheldon, Oliver and Freeman.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Monday from 6 to 8 PM, with a service celebrating Audrey’s life to take place from the Valley Baptist Church, Hillsborough on Tuesday January 5, 2016 at 1 PM. The interment will take place in the River View Cemetery. Donations to the Valley Baptist Church or The Friends of The Moncton Hospital would be appreciated.
