HILDA KETTLE
April 10, 1927 – January 3, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hilda Kettle (nee Lomond) announces her passing on Saturday January 2, 2016 at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 88 years. Born in Port aux Basques Hilda was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Melinda Lomond. She was also predeceased by her husband Nathan Kettle in 1985. Grandson Stephen Kettle in 1998, brothers; Clayton Lomond, Ted Lomond, sister Eva (Charles) Kettle. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories, her children; Roland (Evelyn) Kettle Port aux Basques, Jordan (Marilyn) Kettle Edmonton AB, Juanita (Lloyd) Seward Clarenville NL. She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren; Cecil Kettle (Annette) Oshawa ON, Jennifer Kettle St. John's NL, Melanie (Collin) Matthews Clarenville NL, Matthew Seward Clarenville NL, Lorna Kettle Edmonton AB, Julie (Chris) Clarke British Columbia. Great grandchildren; Marlene Kettle, Shantel Kettle, Caitlyn Sheppard, Lucas Matthews, Mitchell Jeans, Ryan Jeans. Brother Douglas Lomond, sister Frances (Gordon) Kettle all of Port aux Basques, sister Rachel Hollett Nova Scotia, sisters in law; Viola Roberts, Jane Kettle all of Port aux Basques and large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 7-9 PM and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services took place on Tuesday January 5, 11 AM at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Grand Bay officiated by Rev. Steven Maki, interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Donations in memory of Hilda can be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church.
