Lynn Wilson
WILSON, LYNN IRENE
Lynn passed away peacefully on Monday January 4th, 2016 with her husband and parents by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Lynn was the beloved wife of Don Desrochers of Toronto, daughter of Velma and Charlie Wilson of Sunny Corner, New Brunswick sister of Gordie (Sharon), Nancy (Tony), and Anne (Michael). She was a loving aunt to Charles, Shaun, Katie, Michelle and James Riley. She embraced and loved her new family Lisa Marie, Paul, and Che.
She obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Brunswick, a Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Florida at Gainsville and a degree in Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Lynn had a lifelong interest in history, including a great respect for indiginous people. Lynn was passionate about children and helping them with their speech and reading skills. With her talents in this area she changed many lives.
Perhaps she was happiest while sailing and on the water in any vessel, big or small. This started with beach picnics with Mom and Dad on the Miramichi River in New Brunswick at a young age. She loved to cook for people, especially if someone else was brave enough to do the cleaning up. Lynn was always up for an adventure. She loved to go fishing, travelling or anywhere there was fun to be had. Lynn always put others before herself. She had a generous, kind and considerate heart. She brought out the best in people. She loved people. Lynn was a gracious host and friend. She was always grateful for the love and support of family and friends. Lynn would like to thank everyone for making her life so wonderful.
The family would like to thank the many wonderful doctors and staff at Sunnybrook, Princess Margaret and Mount Sinai for their compassion and care. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday January 7 at 11 a.m. at the MORLEY BEDFORD FUNERAL HOME, 159 Eglinton Ave. W. (2 stop lights west of Yonge St.).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the cancer society or charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Morley Bedford Funeral Home (www.morleybedford.ca).
