MAYER, JOAN GLORIA (née BUDD)
Joan Gloria Mayer (née Budd), 82, of Riverview, within the comfort of her home, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. Born in Indian Mountain, she was the daughter of the late John and Neta (Rogers) Budd.
Joan was loved by numerous family and friends and was a very dedicated and active member of the Moncton Jewish community and the Tiferes Israel Synagogue.
Joan will be sadly missed by her daughters, Sharon Mayer (Steve Jenkins) of St. Catherines, PEI and Joann Black of Moncton; grandchildren, Jason Black of Moncton and Carrie Ricker of Halifax, NS; great grandson, Spencer Black; sisters, Audrey Melanson (late Edward) and Arlene Palmer (late Robert); brothers, Ronald Budd (Lennie) and Albert Budd (Marylou); sister-in-law, Carol Mayer; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth E. Mayer (May 2011); grandson, John; brothers, Raymond, Leonard and John Budd; sister, Mildred Biggs.
Funeral Service will be held at Tiferes Israel Synagogue, Steadman Street, on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 2:30 pm. Interment will be held in Tiferes Israel Cemetery, Dieppe. Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) in care of arrangements.
In Joan’s memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
